In 1908, six colored teddy bears were commissioned for presentation in London. Four of them have never been seen again since then: the pink, yellow, green and black teddy bear. Until now. Thanks to a passionate and knowledgeable Steiff collector, a never-before-seen black 1908 was discovered. Bruno is his name and he is unique and irresistible. His replica was created in painstaking detail work and great effort. Our archivist and designers were instantly fascinated by Bruno’s details. The cut and especially the red garnished claws clearly indicate an early time of origin. Our archivist was also surprised by Bruno’s unusual, additional mole, because something similar can be found on the first black teddy bear, which was made as a prototype in 1907 and which Richard used to make the teddy bear look more lifelike.‎
